Learn to weave with local Sonoma County artist Karen Hungersford! This class is designed for beginning to intermediate weavers, with a focus on good basic techniques and an individual approach for each student to learn at their own speed. The class will cover weaving, equipment, and different materials, with an overview of several different looms (treadle floor loom, rigid heddle, and Inkle loom), as well as different materials (wool, cotton, and rag-weaving). This basic class will give you a good foundation for your individual goals, and prepare you for learning warping and efficient weaving technique.

Cost: $40 per class, or both classes for $75, optional materials fee of $25—or feel free to bring your own yarn!

Karen is a weaver and fiber artist with 32 years of experience. She was a production weaver for Susan Hayes Handwovens and Green Tree Weaving for many years, and now focuses on tapestry weaving. She has taught weaving at Bodega Pastures’ “Sheep Camp” for 20 years, teaching inkle loom, backstrap weaving, rigid heddle, and floor loom. She loves what she does and is excited to share her knowledge and experience of the journey of weaving.
