Raw to Ready: How to Clean a Raw Fleece for Spinning or Felting

The whys & hows of cleaning a raw fleece, with Melanie Perkins of Spindles & Flyers Spinning Guild.  Learn skirting on a skirting table.  Learn different types of wool.  Learn the difference between spinning a clean fleece and spinning "in the grease" or "spinning in the dirt", and the difference between washing different types of sheep's wool and alpaca.  We'll practice on Scottish Blackface & Olde English Babydoll, as well as alpaca.  We'll also cover suint washing and storage.  $30 for the single class, or $50 for the series (when taken with Carding & Picking, from 12:30-2).  Plus $10 materials fee (the same for the single or the series: $10 materials fee for the single class, $10 total materials fee if you take both the Cleaning & Carding class). Deposit required by Nov 31 for registration.
